Jordan records 2,239 new COVID-19 cases, positivity rate stands at 5.54%

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 2,239 new COVID-19 cases and 43 new deaths on Thursday, bringing the total death toll to 12,372 and the total number of cases to 1,047,953.اضافة اعلان


The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 924 cases, while Zarqa recorded 168 cases. Irbid registered 469 cases, Balqa 170 cases, Karak recorded 56 cases, Jerash recorded 74 cases, and Tafileh recorded 16 cases. Madaba registered 86 cases, Aqaba 28, Ramtha 48, and Ajloun 50.

The ministry said in a statement that 150 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 127 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 52,375 according to the ministry. Out of  49,461 COVID-19 tests conducted Thursday, 5.54 percent of them came back positive.
