Jordan records 5,153 new COVID-19 cases

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 5,153 new COVID-19 cases and 29 new deaths on Thursday, bringing the total death toll to 11,879 and the total number of cases to 998,492.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 1,840 cases, while Zarqa recorded 504 cases. Irbid registered 1,135 cases, Balqa 465 cases, Karak recorded 138 cases, Jerash recorded 161 cases, and Tafileh recorded 32 cases. Madaba registered 258 cases, Aqaba 48, Ramtha 217, and Ajloun 139.

The ministry said in a statement that 121 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 194 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 65,953 according to the ministry. Out of 55,184 COVID-19 tests conducted Thursday 9.34 percent of them came back positive.
