The Ministry of Investment announced on Thursday a major investment opportunity: the Amman Bridge Project. The Ministry invited qualified firms and specialized consortia experienced in the design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of major road and bridge projects to participate in the Pre-Qualification (RFQ) process under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

The Amman Bridge is considered a flagship strategic project in the transport and infrastructure sector. It involves constructing Jordan’s first elevated highway, stretching 15.8 kilometers, linking North Amman to the South. The project aims to improve traffic efficiency on one of the Kingdom’s most congested corridors, enhance urban connectivity, and stimulate economic activity.
Project Scope and Features
Elevated Expressway: A 16 km flyover built within the existing right-of-way of King Abdullah II Street.
Toll System: A fully automated Free-Flow Electronic Tolling system.
Integrated Transport: Includes two lanes in each direction plus a dedicated lane for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Phase II, complete with stations, pedestrian bridges, and acceleration/deceleration lanes.
Smart Infrastructure: Implementation of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), modern payment solutions, and energy-efficient lighting.
Free Alternative: King Abdullah II Street will remain a free alternative route for users.

The Ministry of Investment (PPP Projects Unit) invites experienced companies or consortia to participate in the Pre-Qualification phase for the Amman Bridge Project.
Eligibility and Process:
The Ministry seeks a private sector partner through a transparent and competitive bidding process in accordance with PPP Law No. 19 of 2023 and PPP Regulation No. 9 of 2024. The RFQ stage is the first step; only pre-qualified applicants will receive the Request for Proposals (RFP).
