GAM celebrates City Day with 10,000 free book

AMMAN — On Wednesday, the Greater Amman Municipality marked Amman City Day, which fell on March 2nd, by offering 10,000 free books to citizens at Al-Hashimiyah Square. The books covered various literary, intellectual, scientific, and historical topics, including those tailored for children, in the presence of the Executive Director of Culture, Engineer Bassam Al-Abdallat, Khaberni reported. اضافة اعلان

Thamer Al-Shobaki, the Director of the Public Libraries Department, explained that this initiative, launched by the Libraries Department, one of the cultural arms of the Community Development Sector in the Municipality, aims to promote reading, encourage book ownership, disseminate intellectual works, and bolster cultural awareness while underscoring the importance of books.

The book distribution site saw a significant turnout from school and university students, researchers, intellectuals, and citizens keen on reading and acquiring books.

Citizens appreciated this kind gesture from the Municipality for providing books on Amman City Day, enabling them to obtain books and indulge in reading.
