Responding to inquiries regarding the decision to enlist a foreign operator, during a panel session titled "Reshaping Inbound Tourism in Light of Recent Developments" organized by the Inbound Tourism Association, Majali clarified that the objective is not driven by a lack of local capacity to manage the airport's daily operations.

He emphasized the high competence of the local aviation personnel and management, explaining that the primary goal is instead to enhance "air connectivity" by partnering with an entity capable of linking the airport to a vast network of destinations.

He added that the new global operator will help attract larger tourist influxes and open new horizons for joint cooperation with various institutions and countries, ensuring the city of Aqaba is connected to new international hubs and destinations.

In a related context, Majali revealed the signing of a new agreement with Royal Jordanian Airlines to expand the flight network to and from the "Smiling Port" (Aqaba). The agreement includes operating scheduled flights twice a week on the (Aqaba–Abu Dhabi–Aqaba) route, as well as the (Aqaba–Riyadh–Aqaba) route, describing these lines as a positive new step to support tourism and commercial activity.

Majali pointed out that these new destinations are in addition to the currently operational routes, which feature scheduled flights twice a week between (Aqaba–Cairo–Aqaba), further strengthening Aqaba's position as a vital regional and international transit hub.
