He noted that this year’s rainy season was favorable, positively impacting nature across Jordan, with many areas resembling a green landscape.

In radio remarks, he explained that the ministry is implementing a two-year executive program focused—during the spring outing months of April, May, and June—on raising environmental awareness, improving infrastructure, and enforcing regulations at tourist and archaeological sites.

He added that 39 tourist and archaeological locations have been identified, pointing to a noticeable improvement in public awareness and cooperation from influencers in supporting environmental efforts.

The minister also indicated that 300 cameras have been deployed, including 250 across various governorates and 50 in the capital, Amman, to strengthen monitoring of recreational areas.

He explained that the violations include 30,000 cases of littering from vehicles, each carrying a fine of JOD 20, in addition to 7,500 violations related to disposing of waste outside designated areas.

In the same context, recreational sites have been equipped with additional waste containers and hanging bins to facilitate proper waste collection and reduce pollution.
