A senior military source in the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army stated that the Eastern Military Zone successfully foiled a drug smuggling attempt early Monday morning along its frontlines and within its area of responsibility. The source explained that Border Guard forces, in cooperation with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, detected a group of balloons within the monitored zone. The balloons were intercepted and brought down along with their payload inside Jordanian territory.

Upon inspecting the area, it was found that the balloons were equipped with primitive remote-controlled navigation devices and were loaded with illegal narcotics. The seized materials were transferred to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
