AMMAN — Roya Group was suspended Monday from the German international broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW) due to alleged concerns about anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic content that circulated on Roya’s social media channels, the Associated Press reported.اضافة اعلان

“We are truly sorry that we did not notice these disgusting images,” Guido Baumhauer, a senior executive at DW, said. He noted that his company is going to re-evaluate its cooperation with Roya TV. The re-evaluation is because of “several pieces of content distributed via Roya’s social media channels, which is not consistent with DW’s values,” he added.
Roya TV and DW entered their partnership in 2011.

In a press statement later on Monday, Roya Group expressed regret at DW’s announcement and that the broadcasting group will reserve the right to take any necessary action towards the allegation of being racist and anti-Semitic.
“Fighting racism in all of its types, including anti-Semitism, is one of Roya’s core values, and we strongly condemn the accusations, and the fallacies that evoked DW’s announcement,” Roya Group CEO Fares Sayegh said in the statement.
