During a press conference at the embassy in Amman, Ambassador Guo expressed his pleasure at arriving in Jordan last week and his eagerness to work in ways that serve the interests of both countries. He noted that it has been ten years since the strategic partnership with Jordan and affirmed China’s readiness to support enhanced trade and cooperation in sectors such as energy, digital economy, tourism, and water management.

Ambassador Guo highlighted the importance of investments in developing countries, particularly in the post-COVID era, and said China aims to expand investments in countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, including Jordan. He stressed cooperation in renewable energy, especially solar projects, as well as human resource development and training opportunities for Jordanians in China.

He also underscored China’s commitment to supporting developing countries in artificial intelligence, noting plans to collaborate with Jordanian universities on AI initiatives. Guo emphasized that China’s technological advancements in AI and renewable energy have positioned it as a global center of innovation.

Regarding regional issues, Ambassador Guo praised Jordan’s role in seeking a just and peaceful resolution to the Palestinian issue and reaffirmed China’s support for the Hashemite custodianship of Jerusalem’s holy sites. He noted China’s ongoing efforts to alleviate suffering in Gaza and expressed readiness to help ensure that humanitarian aid reaches the sector effectively, particularly in light of the sensitive ceasefire phase.

The ambassador concluded by reaffirming that China-Jordan relations are strategic, with plans to facilitate high-level visits next year to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, trade, and regional peace initiatives.

Ambassador Guo’s accreditation papers were formally received this month by Jordanian Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ambassador Deifallah Al-Fayez.
