In a statement to "Petra" on Thursday, he noted CSCC has increased basic commodity reserve, and has, in cooperation with supply partners, stored the contracted goods at the corporation's warehouses to meet any shortage.

Qudah pointed out that the CSCC has a "large" strategic stock of basic food commodities such as rice, vegetable oils, sugar and powdered milk, which are sufficient to meet local markets for "comfortable" periods.

Commodity quantities in the CSCC outlets were boosted, which enjoy "high quality" and lower prices,he noted, affirming the corporation's readiness to meet high demand on some consumer goods during holy month of Ramadan.

The new deliveries will undergo lab tests at Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) to be then supplied to CSCC's warehouses, he pointed out.

In the same context, he said CSCC's policy during the past years announced discount offers on commodity prices at end of each month.

Number of discounted items hit about 200 per month, including food and non-food items, which is an opportunity for citizens to purchase goods at lower prices, he said.

CSCC has its main warehouses in Zarqa governorate with large capacity and operates about 40 trucks to supply goods to its outlets.
