A responsible military source at the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces stated that a military patrol, while carrying out its duty at security checkpoints in the Qarn area within the jurisdiction of the Northern Military Region, was surprised by a vehicle that refused to comply with orders to stop at the checkpoint and attempted to break through without heeding the army’s instructions.

This prompted the application of the rules of engagement adopted by the armed forces to deal with such cases, after all available options had been exhausted. When the vehicle was stopped as a result of the exchange, it was found to contain two individuals who had sustained injuries. They were transported to Abu Obeida Hospital in the Northern Shouneh area for treatment but later succumbed to their wounds. An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the incident.
The Armed Forces urged citizens to comply with military instructions at checkpoints, stressing that any violations will be dealt with in accordance with the established rules of engagement.
