The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) has launched a package of discounts and exemptions on building and land taxes. The measures, approved by the Cabinet based on a recommendation from the Board of Commissioners, aim to ease financial burdens, stimulate economic activity, and enhance Aqaba's appeal as a competitive investment environment.

The incentive package includes:
A 50% discount on building and land taxes due for years prior to 2026, provided that the full outstanding balance is settled before July 31, 2026.
A 100% exemption from accumulated tax fines for those who settle the principal tax amount due before the end of 2026.
Abu Omar emphasized that this package is a practical response to addressing accumulated financial challenges. He noted that it provides a genuine opportunity to settle tax liabilities under facilitated terms, reflecting a clear commitment to stimulating economic activity and strengthening partnerships with the private sector to support sustainable growth in the region.
