70% of child beggars are repeat offenders

AMMAN — Minister of Social Development Ayman Mufleh said that the number of children who go back to begging and enter the care and rehabilitation centers for beggars has increased from 60 percent to 70 percent, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.اضافة اعلان

Mufleh said that many children are returning to the centers because their parents force them to take to the streets to beg.

He said that the Ministry of Social Development can secure cash aid through the National Aid Fund to the families of child beggars. He pointed out that the ministry has dealt with four cases of human trafficking since the pertinent law was enacted.
