The directorate explained that 39 of these visits were distributed across:
12 different facilities
9 sites reported for environmental complaints
4 sites related to public safety
9 farms
5 springs
The directorate also handled 30 environmental applications, which were followed by inspection visits. After completing the necessary studies and procedures, and verifying that projects met environmental conditions and standards, environmental licenses and approvals were granted for 26 developmental projects, including agricultural, industrial, artisanal, and general projects. Three projects were rejected for failing to meet environmental requirements, while one project was assigned a comprehensive environmental impact assessment study.
The directorate emphasized that these measures—granting licenses and conducting inspections—aim to protect natural resources and ensure a healthy and safe environment in the governorate.
