16 new deaths from COVID in last 24-hours

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 16 new COVID-19 deaths Saturday and 438 new cases, bringing the total death toll to 10,669 and the total caseload to 818,796.

The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 134 cases, while Zarqa recorded 57 cases. Irbid registered 91 cases, while Balqa recorded 18 cases.

Karak recorded 13 cases, Jerash recorded 15 cases, and Tafileh recorded 20. Madaba registered no cases, Aqaba 52, and Ajloun 11.

The ministry added in a statement that some 44 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 52 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 12,295, the ministry said. Around 2.64 percent of the 16,587 COVID-19 tests that were conducted Saturday came back positive.
