Jordan records 8 COVID deaths Friday

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 871 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, in addition to 8 new deaths, bringing the death toll to 10,653 and the caseload to 818,358.

The Ministry of Health stated that Amman recorded 393 cases, while Zarqa recorded 84 cases.

Irbid registered 138 cases, while Balqa recorded 41 cases.

Karak recorded 35, Jerash recorded 13 cases, and Tafileh recorded 8.

Madaba registered 14 cases, Aqaba 20, and Ajloun 37.

The ministry added in a statement that some 53 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 69 were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 12,346 according to the Ministry of Health.

Around 3.5 percent of the 24,893 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
