Jordan records 8 new COVID deaths, 790 new cases

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 790 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, in addition to 9 new deaths, bringing the death toll to 10,594 and the caseload to 812,253.

The Ministry of Health stated that Amman recorded 332 cases, while Zarqa recorded 113 cases.

Irbid registered 71 cases, while Balqa recorded 52 cases.

Karak recorded 41, Jerash recorded 40 cases, and Tafileh recorded 18.

Madaba registered 10 cases, Aqaba 11, and Ajloun 31.

Mafraq registered 27 new cases.

The ministry added in a statement that some 82 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 80 were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 12,428 according to the Ministry of Health.

Around 3.11 percent of the 25,406 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
