WABA meets in Jordan with initial approval to host new tournaments

AMMAN — The West Asia Basketball Association (WABA) met in Amman on Saturday, attended by the first vice president of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Sheikh Saud bin Ali Al Thani, president of the Asian Basketball Federation.اضافة اعلان

Sheikh Saud and WABA Secretary General Hagop Khajirian welcomed all those present, appreciating the hosting of the Jordan Basketball Federation by its president, Mohamed Alayyan, and the secretary general, Nabil Abu Atta, for the Women Asian Cup Basketball Tournament.

The meeting featured a presentation of an integrated tournament calendar set up for the whole year, with an initial approval from representatives of the West Asian Federation to come up with new tournaments, and considerations was given to the states hosting the Asian tournaments. 

According to reliable source, Jordan is planning to host several tournaments, primarily the WABA junior (under the age of 16) championship.
