“Of course, I made a stupid and naive mistake. I tried to find solutions, but I should have acted differently,” Neuer said in comments reported by Sky Sport Germany.

“Yes, I take full responsibility,” the veteran goalkeeper added.

Neuer’s mistake led to Bayern conceding the fastest goal in Bundesliga history.
Robin Fellhauer put Augsburg ahead just eight seconds into the match after pressing the veteran goalkeeper and scoring into an unguarded net.

The goal became the fastest in the competition’s history, surpassing the previous record set by former Hoffenheim player Kevin Volland, who scored against Bayern Munich in 2015 after nine seconds.

Coincidentally, Manuel Neuer was Bayern’s goalkeeper on both occasions.
Bayern Munich failed to capitalize on Borussia Dortmund’s slip-up, as the league leaders were held to a 2–2 draw by Werder Bremen in the same round.

The result took Bayern to 11 points in second place in the Bundesliga standings, two points behind leaders Dortmund.

Augsburg moved up to eight points, placing fifth.
