The Ministry of Agriculture on Monday clarified the circumstances surrounding reports that an envelope containing JD14,000 had gone missing during procedures to sell olives at Al-Hussein Agricultural Station, stressing that the bids submitted in the process did not contain any cash.
In a press statement, the ministry said the incident occurred while bids submitted by 10 bidders were being opened. One of the bidders took his bid and attempted to flee as he was leaving the hall, it said, adding that security personnel detained him to complete the necessary legal procedures.
The ministry urged the public to verify information and obtain it from official sources, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and integrity and to applying the regulations and instructions in force.
