In media comments, Abu Leila said Jamal Al-Salami himself submitted his resignation after Jordan's World Cup 2026 campaign ended.
He also denied reports circulating on social media about alleged disputes within the national team during the World Cup, stressing that those claims were nothing but rumors and that nothing of the sort had happened.
Abu Leila explained that Al-Salami and the technical staff put in significant effort during the tournament, noting that work often stretched on for long hours to prepare the team as needed ahead of matches.
He added that the technical staff was keen on providing players with detailed information about opposing teams, including how opposing players tend to move in different situations and on corner kicks.
