The Asian Football Confederation announced on Tuesday that the 2027 Asian Cup finals in Saudi Arabia have been postponed. The tournament will now take place from December 23, 2027 to January 21, 2028, instead of the previously scheduled dates of January 7 to February 5, 2027.اضافة اعلان

In a statement, the AFC said the decision followed extensive discussions and consultations with the local organizing committee for the Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 and the Saudi Football Federation. It was taken in light of current conditions and developments in the region, and the travel arrangements and logistical considerations these may entail.

The AFC added that the organizing committee agreed to reschedule the tournament because of unusual circumstances that prevent it from being held according to the original timetable, in a way that serves the interests of participating teams, officials, fans and all other concerned parties.

The confederation said the new dates will be submitted to FIFA for approval.

The AFC praised the commitment of the Saudi Football Federation and the local organizing committee to delivering a world-class tournament, affirming that it will continue working with the concerned authorities, partners and participating national associations to stage an exceptional edition and minimize the impact of the postponement.

It said further updates on the tournament will be announced through the AFC's official channels.
