Trade between Jordan and Algeria not satisfying

AMMAN — President of the Amman Chamber of Industry Fathi Jaghbir said on Saturday that the Jordanian economic delegation at the Algiers International Fair discussed trade relations between Jordan and Algeria with a view to achieving an Arab commercial integration, according to Al-Mamlaka TV. At the end of the Jordanian delegation’s visit, Jaghbir said that the volume of trade exchange between Jordan and Algeria is not satisfying at all, and that successive governments, on both sides, failed to increase it. He added that the volume of trade between the two sides did not exceed $200 million, and stressed the need to make it reach billions of dollars. Jaghbir called for increasing the business relation between the two countries and for providing customs exemptions on goods, and stressed the importance of establishing joint businesses to enhance economic cooperation and increase the volume of investment. At the end of the Jordanian delegation’s visit, Jaghbir said that the volume of trade exchange between Jordan and Algeria is not satisfying at all, and that successive governments, on both sides, failed to increase it.
