According to a statement issued by the Chamber on Saturday, Al-Rifai highlighted during the meeting—held at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce headquarters—the opportunities available in the national economy that could be leveraged to attract foreign investment, particularly from Japan.

He pointed to the advantages and incentives Jordan offers to business owners and companies, foremost among them its strategic location, security and stability, a package of modern legislation, and trade agreements linking Jordan with various global economic blocs.

Al-Rifai stressed the importance of positioning Jordan as a main gateway for reconstruction projects in sisterly Syria, noting the strong coordination and genuine partnership between a transparent government that follows up on long-term investments and the private sector, aimed at achieving growth and sustainability and implementing the Economic Modernization Vision.

For his part, Chamber Board Member Mohammad Tahboub noted that several economic sectors have achieved notable success stories, especially information technology, pharmaceuticals, garments, and food industries, in addition to certain service sectors that enjoy preferential export advantages.

Members of the delegation explained that JICA is an independent governmental organization with a wide network of overseas offices to promote international cooperation, serving as the executive arm of Japan’s official development assistance.

They added that the agency aims to support sustainable economic and social development in developing countries, including Jordan, through technical assistance, concessional loans, grants, and institutional capacity building, as well as by implementing projects in vital sectors such as energy, water, health, and education to promote development.

They noted that their visit to the Kingdom focuses on cooperation in technical support and knowledge transfer through the implementation of training programs and joint projects to transfer Japanese expertise and technology, with the aim of strengthening development partnerships and cooperation in line with national development priorities.

They also emphasized that Jordan is a key partner for Japan, affirming that His Majesty King Abdullah II’s recent visit to Japan will enhance export opportunities and strengthen bilateral economic relations.
