The Jordan Industrial Estates Company (JIEC) has urged industrial investors and business owners to capitalize on the newly approved incentive package for the Tafila Industrial City, endorsed by the Cabinet during its recent session in the governorate.اضافة اعلان

The package includes a 50 percent reduction in land prices, lowering the cost per square meter from JD10 to JD5 for investments exceeding 20 dunams. It also grants newly established companies and factories in Tafila Industrial City free electricity for three years, in addition to previously announced incentives.

According to a JIEC statement issued on Tuesday, the latest incentives aim to attract new industrial investments and support expansion of existing operations. The free electricity benefit is available to firms established or registered within one year of the Cabinet’s decision.

The company praised the government's move as a targeted response to the investment needs of the governorate and in alignment with the Economic Modernization Vision, which seeks to enhance the competitiveness of Jordan’s industrial sector while creating employment opportunities for local communities.

JIEC emphasized that the decision would help reduce production costs, strengthen the national industry’s competitiveness, and drive sustainable economic development in Tafila through high-value industrial investments expected to generate hundreds of jobs.

JIEC General Manager Omar Juwaid highlighted that this reduction builds upon a previous Cabinet decision that cut land prices from JD25 to JD10 per square meter. With the latest decision, the price has now dropped to JD5.

He also noted that prior incentives included a phased reduction in electricity tariffs over a 10-year period. Under this structure, industrial investors receive a 75 percent discount for the first five years, 50 percent for the following three years, and 25 percent for the final two years.

Juwaid added that Tafila Industrial City is also part of the "productive branches" employment program, which now offers extended support for five years covering 50 percent of the minimum wage, a JD25 monthly Social Security contribution, and a JD25 transportation allowance for Jordanian workers.

In addition, goods exported through Aqaba’s container port and manufactured in Tafila Industrial City are eligible for a 50 percent shipping discount for five years, subject to specific criteria under the national incentive framework.

He revealed that Tafila Industrial City currently hosts 23 industrial firms, with total investments amounting to JD19 million and around 539 job opportunities created during its various operational phases.

The Industrial Cities Authority is currently reviewing multiple expressions of investment interest in Tafila Industrial City with the aim of concluding contracts and ensuring tangible developmental outcomes for the local population. The Authority reiterated its call to investors, particularly those requiring significant electrical loads, to take advantage of the comprehensive incentive package.
