Major international events and forums continue to unfold across the city. Its calendar remains filled with conferences spanning energy, investment, healthcare, travel, finance, cybersecurity, technology and artificial intelligence. In September alone, the Dubai World Trade Centre is hosting 14 major events, some of which are expected to attract tens of thousands of experts, decision-makers and exhibitors from scores of countries.
These are not simply events entered into a city’s calendar. They are successive declarations of confidence. They affirm that the world continues to come to Dubai and that leaders in business, technology and knowledge still regard it as the natural place to meet, forge partnerships and envision the future.
In December, Dubai will once again host GITEX Global 2026, one of the world’s leading gatherings for technology and innovation, further consolidating the city’s position as a platform for the economy of the future.
Meanwhile, campaigns seeking to discredit Dubai’s model—fuelled by ideologically driven media outlets and toxic narratives emanating from various quarters—have failed to alter the reality visible to the world.
Dubai has no need to defend itself through slogans. Its record speaks for itself. Its streets, airports, ports, universities and financial centres all bear witness to its success. Above all, that success is affirmed by the millions of people who have chosen the city as a place to live, work and pursue their ambitions.
Propaganda may fabricate a temporary narrative, but it cannot erase an experience people live every day. Hostile platforms may seek to damage Dubai’s reputation, but they cannot explain away the continuing arrival of investors, innovators and visitors. Nor can they deny its enduring ability to attract talent, enterprise and global capital, or the special place it occupies in the hearts and minds of people around the world.
International confidence in Dubai was not created by a media campaign, and therefore cannot be destroyed by one. It was established over decades of achievement, reliability, clarity, respect for human dignity and the creation of opportunity.
That is why, despite all the noise, Dubai remains the strongest choice and the model closest to the aspirations of millions—a city that gives people the opportunity to begin, to succeed and to live with their differences in safety.
In the aftermath of these events, Dubai stands stronger than before—not because the threat was unreal, but because the city confronted it without losing its balance or abandoning its mission.
Strength is not the absence of adversity. It is the ability to overcome adversity without losing direction. Those who sought to unsettle its model will discover that great cities are not broken by crises. Crises merely reveal what those cities are made of.
