Netanyahu’s Office: Body Delivered by Hamas Tuesday Does Not Belong to Detainee
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Wednesday that forensic examinations confirmed the body handed over by Hamas on Tuesday does not belong to any of the remaining detainees in Gaza.اضافة اعلان

Under the terms of the ceasefire declared in October, Hamas had delivered the body, which the Red Cross initially identified as belonging to one of the last detainees in the Palestinian territory. Israeli forces sent the body for forensic testing.

A statement from Netanyahu’s office said, “The samples brought yesterday from the Gaza Strip for examination are unrelated to any of the deceased detainees.” The National Forensic Center conducted the identification process.

The two deceased detainees in question are Israeli police officer Ran Giveli and Thai national Sudthisak Renthlak, both kidnapped during a Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which triggered a devastating two-year war in Gaza.

The Geneva-based Red Cross played a mediating role between the armed groups in Gaza and Israel throughout the conflict, facilitating the release of living detainees and the transfer of bodies.
