Indonesian Military: Plans Underway to Prepare 1,000 Troops for Possible Deployment to Gaza by April
A spokesperson for the Indonesian military said on Monday that Jakarta is preparing 1,000 personnel for potential deployment to the Gaza Strip by early April as part of a proposed multinational peacekeeping force.اضافة اعلان

Military spokesperson Donny Pramono stated that the final decision will be made by President Prabowo Subianto, adding that the total number of troops ready for deployment will reach 8,000 by June.

In a text message, he said: “The departure schedule remains entirely subject to the state’s political decisions and the relevant international mechanisms.”

The remarks come as President Prabowo prepares to travel to Washington this week to attend the first official meeting of the Peace Council chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump.

The United Nations Security Council has approved the establishment of the council as part of the Trump administration’s plan to end the war in Gaza.

Indonesia’s Foreign Ministry said on Saturday that the participation of its armed forces in the international stabilization force forming under a UN mandate in Gaza should not be interpreted as normalization of political relations with any party.

Jakarta does not recognize Israel and maintains no diplomatic relations with it.

The ministry stated: “Indonesia consistently rejects all attempts aimed at demographic change, displacement, or forced transfer of the Palestinian people in any form.”

It added that the deployment—mandated for non-combat humanitarian tasks—can only proceed with the approval of the Palestinian Authority.

The ministry also clarified that Indonesian forces would not have the authority to disarm any party.
