The strikes targeted Al-Dhalea governorate, a stronghold of Southern Transitional Council (STC) leader Aidarous al-Zubaidi.

The two sources confirmed that four civilians were killed and six others wounded in the initial toll of the bombardment on the governorate.

Meanwhile, Yemen’s Saba News Agency reported that Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Rashad al-Alimi issued a decision to revoke al-Zubaidi’s membership in the council and refer him to the Public Prosecutor on charges of high treason.

The agency explained that the decision was issued “pursuant to the Constitution of the Republic of Yemen, the Civil Service Law No. (19) of 1991, Republican Decree No. (4) of 2020 regarding the formation of the government, the Gulf Cooperation Council Initiative and its Implementation Mechanism, the outcomes of the Comprehensive National Dialogue Conference, and the Transfer of Power Decision establishing the Presidential Leadership Council issued on April 7, 2022.”
