Acting director general of the Aqaba Company for Ports Operation and Management (ACPOM) Khaled Al-Maaytah said that the ships underwent clearance as fast as possible to preserve the safety of the livestock.

He noted that two other vessels loaded with commercial items and foodstuffs were expected to dock in Aqaba on Wednesday night.

Maaytah said that stakeholders examined the sheep without incurring any additional costs to clearance companies, stressing that the port is ready to receive more ships under a strategic plan prepared by ACPOM to deal with any emergency circumstances in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
