Portuguese media report that Cristiano Ronaldo and his fiancée Georgina Rodríguez have selected the location and date for their wedding.
According to Correio da Manhã, the captain of Saudi club Al-Nassr has chosen Madeira, his birthplace 40 years ago, as the wedding venue. Jornal da Madeira added that the ceremony will take place at Funchal Cathedral, followed by a reception at a luxury hotel.

The couple is expected to celebrate between August and September 2026, after the World Cup and before the start of the Saudi league season. This choice breaks tradition, as weddings are often held in the bride’s hometown, Buenos Aires, Argentina, or in Spain, where Georgina grew up and first met Ronaldo.
Georgina officially announced her engagement to Ronaldo last August after a decade-long relationship, receiving a massive diamond ring from Ronaldo, one of the largest rings seen in similar occasions.
Ronaldo met 31-year-old Georgina in 2016 in Spain while she was working in a store. In an interview with Piers Morgan, he stated that the wedding would take place after the World Cup and league title celebrations, emphasizing that the event will be private, as Georgina prefers smaller, intimate gatherings.
