Specialized agricultural courses for 120 youth in Madaba

MADABA — The Vocational Training Center (VTC) for Hospitality and Tourism Industry Workers is holding specialized training courses for Jordanians in the agricultural sector, with the participation of 120 male and female trainees from across the governorate, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

The director of the VTC, Raja Elayyan, said that the four training course include: food industries, fish farming, hydroponics and growing sheltered produce. The aim is to offer vocational training for young people to provide them with employment opportunities, especially as they meet the needs of the labor market in the agricultural sector.

Elayyan said that the courses are implemented through projects with the private sector in order to stimulate employment in light of the repercussions of the COVID-19 crisis and its impact on the economy.

She said that the trainees are unemployed and have agricultural engineering degrees and high school certificates.

Elayyan said that the training is going to last for three months, and will include training on both theoretical and practical skills. Each trainee who completes the training will receive JD200 to JD300 and a training certificate approved by the Civil Service Commission.
