Citizens confirm that the problem of water scarcity has exacerbated with the increase in temperatures during the month of Ramadan due to the increased demand for water, noting that large quantities of water loss from the networks can be seen in the streets, at a time when the majority of the population suffers as a result of their scarcity.

According to Khaled El-Arani, the water takes an excessive amount of time to reach the homes of citizens, sometimes several weeks. He also stated that often even if it reaches the rest of the houses, it is so weak that it cannot fill the tanks, explaining that most of the townspeople are of limited income and are unable to buy water from private tanks, which are now exploiting the citizens’ needs for water.
