Jordan trade deficit rose by 30.2% in first ten months of 2022

AMMAN — Jordan’s trade deficit increased by 30.2 percent in the first 10 months of this year compared to the same period last year, to reach JD9.129 billion, according to the Department of Statistics’ monthly report on the Kingdom’s foreign trade.اضافة اعلان

Total exports during the first ten months of the year had a value of JD7.412 billion, a 39.1 percent increase over export value during the same period of 2021. The report broke down total exports in 2022 into national exports at a value of JD6.822 billion (up by40.7 percent),and re-exports at a value of JD589.9 million (up by 22.1 percent).

Meanwhile, the value of the Kingdom’s imports reached JD16.541 billion in the first ten months of 2022­— an increase of 34 percent compared to the same period of 2021.

For the month of October alone, the trade deficit increased by 14.6 percent compared to last October, reaching JD1.014 billion.

The value of total exports in October amounted to JD690.2 million, an increase of 12.9 percent compared to the same month of 2021.

Meanwhile, the value of the Kingdom’s imports increased by 13.9 percent in October 2022 compared to the same month in 2021, reaching JD1.704 billion.
