InterContinental Jordan recently hosted a delightful luncheon bringing together
the hotel team and elderly members of a non-profitable local organization. The
event, held at Wadi Al-Shita Elderly House, aimed to foster connections and
create meaningful interactions, particularly with elderly members of our
community.

Against the
backdrop of love, laughter and shared stories, attendees sat down to enjoy a
delicious meal, prepared with care by The InterContinental Jordan's culinary
team. From savory dishes to decadent desserts, every bite served as a catalyst
for conversation and camaraderie.
The highlight
of the event was the opportunity for the hotel team to engage in meaningful
conversations with the elderly attendees, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day,
under the motto of “Love Unites Us”. Spreading love, showing care, and
acknowledging elderly members of our community created an atmosphere of mutual
respect and positive vibes.
Mr. Zaid Mashini, the Hotel Manager at The
InterContinental Jordan said: “We
believe that Valentine’s Day is not only meant for couples to celebrate love;
for love is what unites us as human beings and we wanted to spread and share
love with our local community. Accordingly, this luncheon provided a platform
for the hotel team to come together and interact with the elderly members,
share stories, and build relationships. It's incredibly rewarding to witness
the joy that comes from these interactions.”
The
event not only offered a chance for the hotel team to forge new connections but
also highlighted the importance of addressing social isolation among the
elderly, particularly in today's fast-paced society. By creating spaces where
people of different generations can come together, The InterContinental Jordan
continues to make a positive impact on the well-being of our community, whereby
the hotel team had
previously
undertaken renovation and maintenance projects to enhance the facilities at
Wadi Al Shita Elderly House and create a more comfortable environment for the
elderly members who are residing at the house.
