The Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted an Intaj statement issued on Saturday as saying the IBC, under the new agreement, will be an economic partner for Middle East and North Africa ICT Forum, which will be held on November 16–17.

The agreement also aims to enhance IBC, Intaj affiliated companies’ cooperation, in terms of organizing conferences and activities, which would serve both sides, in addition to holding periodic meetings to discuss available business and investment opportunities and enhance joint cooperation.

Under the memorandum, the two sides seek mutual support in organizing economic events, enhancing knowledge exchange, networking, partnership and cooperation, and circulating all data, which could be relevant to promoting joint trade and business between the two entities’ members and strengthening their strategic trade alliances and cooperation.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Intaj Chairman Eid Sweis stressed that the memorandum’s importance with IBC, especially since Intaj “always seeks to open new markets for member companies.”

Iraq, he said, is an “important strategic” market for Jordanian companies, lauding it as “one of the most promising destinations in the information technology sector.”

The partnership will pave the way more broadly to support various Jordanian companies, including start-ups and their different products and solutions by enabling access to Iraqi market, or enhance their presence there, he noted.

IBC Vice President Saad Naji said the memorandum would serve and develop the IBC’s companies, enhance cooperation, promote business opportunities, and establish trade partnerships between the two entities’ member companies.

The agreement would enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in the communications and information technology fields, especially in digital transformation, which has become an important pillar to facilitate business environment and cooperation in leadership and innovation areas, Naji pointed out.
