The initiative falls under Etihad Bank’s corporate social responsibility program, “Etihad Bank’s Impact,” which focuses on supporting initiatives with sustainable impact and strengthening the bank’s role in supporting and empowering local communities.
Under the agreement, Etihad Bank will renew its sponsorship of a number of eligible families from Tkiyet Um Ali’s approved lists for a full year by providing them with monthly food parcels. This support will help meet their basic food needs and enhance their food security.
The agreement also includes support for a hydroponic farming project implemented by Dar Abu Abdullah Association, Tkiyet Um Ali’s sister organization, in the Mu’tah area of Karak Governorate.
The support will cover the cost of one agricultural cycle for two greenhouses growing cherry tomatoes, in addition to providing beneficiaries with the necessary technical and practical training and capacity building.
The initiative aims to strengthen their ability to generate sustainable income and achieve greater self-reliance.
Etihad Bank CEO Montaser Dawas said: “This partnership reflects Etihad Bank’s commitment to supporting initiatives that combine meeting families’ basic needs with providing opportunities that help individuals improve their economic circumstances and achieve self-reliance.
Supporting food security addresses a fundamental need, while economic empowerment provides beneficiaries with a broader pathway to building sources of income and improving their quality of life.”
Dawas added that the continued partnership with Tkiyet Um Ali is based on its field expertise and ability to direct support to those most in need, ensuring that assistance reaches its intended beneficiaries and creates a tangible impact in local communities.
For his part, Director General of Tkiyet Um Ali Samer Balqar said: “We are proud of our ongoing partnership with Etihad Bank and its continued support for our development programs.
This cooperation represents a genuine model of integration between the banking sector and charitable and development organizations.
This support helps ease the living burdens of eligible families and enhance their food security, while also supporting sustainable economic and agricultural empowerment projects in cooperation with Dar Abu Abdullah.”
The agreement forms part of the ongoing partnership between Etihad Bank and Tkiyet Um Ali, which focuses on supporting social and development programs and reaching eligible families across the Kingdom, reflecting Etihad Bank’s commitment to strengthening its social impact.
