Exports by the Amman Chamber of Industry rose by 6.5% during the first nine months of this year compared with the same period in 2025, highlighting the ability of Jordanian industries to overcome external pressures and regional challenges.

According to statistical data from the chamber, Amman industry exports reached JD5.977 billion during the first nine months of 2026, compared with JD5.612 billion during the same period last year, an increase of JD365 million.
The data also showed greater geographical diversification and expansion, with Jordanian exports reaching new, non-traditional markets across several African, European and non-Arab Asian countries.
At the sectoral level, exports from most industrial sectors increased during the same period, with the exception of the leather and garments sector and the engineering, electrical and information technology sector, which declined by 1% and 13%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the packaging, paper, cardboard and stationery sector recorded the strongest export growth during the first nine months of the year, rising by 41%, followed by the chemicals and cosmetics sector, which grew by 26%.
According to the data, four Arab and foreign markets accounted for more than half of Amman industry exports during the first nine months of the year: Iraq, India, the United States and Saudi Arabia. Combined exports to these markets amounted to JD3.074 billion.
Exports to Iraq increased by 27.1% during the first nine months of 2026, reaching JD882 million, compared with JD693 million during the same period last year, making Iraq the largest destination for Amman industry exports.
Exports to Saudi Arabia rose by 3% to JD655 million during the first nine months of the year, compared with JD636 million during the same period in 2025.
Meanwhile, exports to India fell by 7.2% during the same period, reaching JD826 million compared with JD889 million during the first nine months of 2025.
Exports to the United States also declined by 25.1%, reaching JD701 million during the first nine months of 2026, compared with JD936 million during the same period last year.
The data also showed that Amman industry exports to Syria increased by 2.9% during the same period, reaching JD291 million compared with JD283 million a year earlier.
Exports to China recorded a significant increase of 208.4%, reaching JD265 million compared with JD85 million during the same period in 2025.
Exports also increased to several other Arab and foreign markets across different regions, including Armenia, Spain, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Portugal, Sudan and Denmark.
Amman industry exports also rose to Kuwait, Cameroon, Japan, Germany, Angola, Yemen and Morocco, in addition to numerous other markets across different geographical regions.
By geographical distribution, Arab countries ranked first as destinations for Amman industry exports during the first nine months of 2026, receiving goods worth JD3.034 billion. They were followed by non-Arab Asian countries with JD1.416 billion, and North American countries with approximately JD748 million.
Exports to European Union countries reached approximately JD377 million, while exports to non-EU European countries stood at JD221 million. Exports to African countries amounted to JD76 million.
Exports to South American countries reached JD47 million, while exports to other markets amounted to approximately JD57 million.
According to monthly statistical data based on certificates of origin, Amman industry exports were distributed across several sectors. Mining industries accounted for JD1.323 billion, followed by chemicals and cosmetics at JD1.268 billion, and food, agricultural and livestock industries at JD813 million.
Exports from the engineering, electrical and information technology sectors reached JD791 million, while pharmaceutical and medical supplies exports totaled JD614 million. Leather and garments exports stood at approximately JD470 million.
The remaining exports were distributed among packaging, paper, cardboard and stationery industries at JD279 million; plastics and rubber industries at approximately JD252 million; construction industries at JD148 million; and wood and furniture industries at approximately JD18 million.
Established in 1962, the Amman Chamber of Industry currently has around 8,600 industrial establishments as members, employing approximately 159,000 men and women, with total capital of around JD5 billion.
