Preliminary data issued by the Central Bank indicate that total incoming remittances from Jordanian workers abroad increased by 4.5% in 2025, reaching $4,472.8 million. Outgoing remittances from the Kingdom also rose by 14.2%, amounting to $1,768.5 million.

The data show that remittances from the United Arab Emirates ranked first among total inflows to the Kingdom, accounting for 21.8%, followed by the United States (18.9%), Saudi Arabia (18.6%), and Qatar (9.6%). Other countries collectively accounted for 31.1% of total incoming remittances.
As for outgoing remittances, Egypt remained the primary destination, representing 40.6% of total outflows from the Kingdom, followed by Bangladesh (10.7%), the United Arab Emirates (5.7%), and the Philippines (5.3%). Other countries accounted for 37.7% of total outgoing remittances.
On a related note, tourism revenues increased by 4.1% in January 2026 to reach $708.5 million, compared with a 22.8% increase recorded in the same month last year, when revenues reached $680.5 million. The rise is attributed to a 3.2% increase in the number of tourists.
The data indicate higher tourism revenues in January 2026 from European nationalities (56.9%), Asian nationalities (11.6%), American nationalities (16.0%), and Arab nationalities (3.0%), while revenues from other nationalities declined by 2.0%, as did revenues from Jordanian expatriates by 3.0%.
The data also show a 6.2% increase in outbound tourism spending in January 2026, reaching $196.3 million.
