This comes after the previous MoU expired on June 26, 2025, and was extended until the end of last year.
The ministry, responding to inquiries by Al-Mamlaka, stated that it aims to renew the Iraqi oil import agreement under the same terms and specifications as the previous agreement, reinforcing bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
According to the ministry, the Jordan Petroleum Refinery in Zarqa received 891,388 barrels of Iraqi crude oil during the period from October 5 to December 31, 2025. This shipment was part of the previous MoU signed between the governments of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Republic of Iraq, which was extended on September 17, 2025.
The MoU allows for the completion of quantities that were not previously loaded due to logistical reasons. Loading resumed on October 5 and concluded on December 31, 2025.
This step reflects the continued cooperation between Jordan and Iraq in the energy sector and strengthens economic relations between the two brotherly countries, serving mutual interests and contributing to Jordan’s energy security.
