Gold and silver prices climbed to unprecedented levels on Monday.
According to Bloomberg, spot gold rose by 1.6% to reach $4,670.01 per ounce, after touching an all-time high of $4,689.39.

U.S. gold futures for February delivery jumped 1.8% to $4,677 per ounce. Spot silver surged 4.4% to $93.85 per ounce after reaching a record high of $94.08.
As for other precious metals, platinum rose 1.9% in spot trading to $2,373.08 per ounce, while palladium gained 0.5% to $1,809 per ounce.
Meanwhile, oil prices showed little change on Monday after rising in the previous session.
Brent crude increased by six cents, or 0.09%, to $64.19 per barrel.
U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures for February delivery, which expire on Tuesday, rose by nine cents to $59.53 per barrel, while the more actively traded March contract climbed to $59.39, up five cents, or 0.08%. (Petra)
