At the forefront of the decisions was the committee’s approval to extend the exemption on agricultural goods destined for export from the fees imposed under the wholesale markets system, in support of Jordanian exports and to strengthen the competitiveness of the agricultural sector in foreign markets.
The committee also approved a draft twinning agreement with the Rabat Municipality as part of a strategic partnership between Amman and Rabat aimed at enhancing sustainable urban development, improving municipal services, and exchanging expertise in urban planning, infrastructure, and cultural heritage preservation.
In the same context, the committee adopted the draft twinning agreement with Doha Municipality to develop cooperation and exchange best practices in local administration, smart infrastructure, public transportation, and digital transformation.
Additionally, the committee approved a memorandum of understanding with Barcelona to support municipal service development and institutional modernization, along with a memorandum with Seoul aimed at promoting prosperity, resilience, and resident well-being in both cities.
Locally, the committee endorsed a cooperation agreement with Asrar Al-Maarefa Company for vocational training in sustainability and environmental management, and a memorandum of understanding with the Jordan River Foundation to support its initiatives, projects, mentoring programs, and capacity-building efforts for beneficiaries.
These decisions fall within the municipality’s wider efforts to expand its international partnerships and enhance technical and institutional cooperation, contributing to improved services and a better quality of life in the capital.
