Amman — Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Eng. Yarub Al-Qudah, discussed with food traders and importers the status of supply chains and ways to ensure the sustainability of safe and strategic stocks of basic commodities, given the current regional challenges.

According to a ministry statement released on Thursday, Al-Qudah emphasized during the meeting the importance of maintaining a safe and sufficient inventory of essential food items to ensure the stability of the local market and meet citizens' needs without interruption.
In the presence of the President of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Commerce, Senator Khalil El-Haj Tawfiq, the Minister listened to a briefing from traders and importers regarding the key challenges facing import operations. The discussion also addressed the status of certain commodities that might witness global price increases.
The importers stressed the importance of streamlining import procedures and diversifying supply sources by importing from alternative markets in various countries. They noted that such steps would enhance supply security and provide goods at the lowest possible costs.
