The Department of Statistics has released its monthly report on the General Industrial Production Quantity Index, recording a 1.29% increase in industrial production quantities for 2025 compared with the same period in 2024.

On a monthly basis, the overall index rose by 0.35% in December 2025 compared with December 2024, and by 0.52% compared with November 2025. It is noted that the base year has been updated to (2018=100) instead of (2010=100).
According to a press statement issued Thursday, the Industrial Production Quantity Index for 2025 reached 88.84, compared with 87.70 for the same period in 2024. On a monthly level, the index for December 2025 stood at 88.78 points, compared with 88.47 in December 2024. It also reached 88.78 in December 2025, compared with 88.32 in November of the same year.
Comparing the cumulative index for 2025 with that of 2024, production quantities increased by:
1.17% in the manufacturing sector, which holds a relative importance of 88.7%;
1.16% in the extractive industries sector, with a relative importance of 5.4%;
2.82% in electricity production, which accounts for 5.9% of the total index.
On a year-on-year monthly basis (December 2025 compared with December 2024), the overall index increased due to:
An 11.64% rise in extractive industries production (5.4% relative importance);
A 1.94% increase in electricity production (5.9% relative importance).
Meanwhile, manufacturing production declined by 0.40% (88.7% relative importance).
On a month-to-month basis (December 2025 compared with November 2025), production quantities increased by:
0.36% in extractive industries (5.4% relative importance);
21.0% in electricity production (5.9% relative importance).
However, manufacturing production decreased by 0.70% (88.7% relative importance).
The Industrial Production Quantity Index is calculated based on a selected sample from the Industrial Establishments Survey, covering approximately 300 industrial establishments, with data collected on a monthly basis.
