The sources said the session will be held at 15:00 (19:00 GMT) at the request of Algeria and Pakistan in particular.
Diplomats stated on Tuesday that Algeria called for the meeting after Israel carried out an attack on Hamas leaders in Qatar. They added that Algeria requested the 15-member Council to convene on Wednesday.
The Israeli army announced that on Tuesday it launched airstrikes in Doha targeting senior Hamas leaders. Hamas confirmed that its negotiators survived the attack but reported that six people were killed in the unprecedented strike in Qatar, which stressed that it “reserves the right to respond.”
