During a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Putin noted that he remains in constant contact with the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

Putin expressed his condolences to the Iranian President for the numerous civilian casualties resulting from what he described as "Israeli-American armed aggression against Iran." He also conveyed his sympathies regarding the death of the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, members of his family, and several political and military leaders, as well as "a number of civilians."

The Kremlin stated that President Pezeshkian expressed his gratitude for Russia's solidarity with the Iranian people in defending their country's sovereignty and independence. Pezeshkian also provided a detailed account of developments during the recent active phase of the conflict.
