Tourism sector draws closer to recovery

AMMAN — The tourism sector is expected to achieve full recovery from the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic as of next year, said Awni Kawar, board chairman of the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA), a local media outlet reported.اضافة اعلان

Kawar said that the sector recorded an unexpected growth in the number of tourists and tourism income during the first 10 months of 2022.

Kawar called for the need to attract tourism investments, including hotels in Petra and the Dead Sea, as the two places are short of hotel rooms, in addition to encouraging investment in tourism transport, and increasing the number of tourist vehicles.

Kawar stressed the importance of focusing on tourism investments in Jordan by providing an attractive environment.
