Time span of committed crimes decreases in 2021

AMMAN — A crime was committed every 25:02 minutes in 2021, about 77 seconds longer than the 23:45 minutes recorded in 2020, Al-Ghad News reported. The 2021 figure signaled a decrease in criminal offenses last year, including theft. According to the statistics by the Public Security Directorate, the number of crimes committed in the Kingdom last year totaled to 20,991, compared with 22,187 in 2020, a decrease of 1,196 crimes. Offenses which saw a decrease in numbers included attempted murder, criminal theft, and bribery.
