Noting Jordan's appreciation to EU's support to Amman, he said the bloc backed His Majesty King Abdullah II's stances towards the Middle East peace process.

In this regard, he said the EU supports the King's affirmation on the need to solve the Palestinian cause, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution, with Jerusalem as the key to peace in the Middle East region, according to Fayez.

Stressing the need to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields, he urged the European Parliament to play "a more effective" role to increase EU investments in Jordan and trade exchanges.

Fayez also called for increasing the EU financial and economic support to Amman to counter Covid-19 pandemic, and to continue its "pivotal" role in the region by working to establish security and stability.
