The number of Jordanians leaving the country for tourism purposes reached 706,065 during the first six months of the year — January, February, March, April, May and June — according to official data.

Preliminary official figures showed that the number fell by 12.5% compared with the same period last year, when 806,971 Jordanians departed for tourism.

By month, the number of departures reached 161,709 in January, 104,051 in February, 99,153 in March, 70,237 in April, 127,851 in May, and 143,064 in June, bringing the six-month total to 706,065.

The data showed that the sharpest decline occurred in April, when the number of departures fell from 113,692 in April last year to 70,237 this year, representing a 38.2% decline.

Data from the Central Bank of Jordan had also shown that tourism spending by Jordanians and residents declined by 6.7% in June 2026 to $182.4 million.

During the first half of 2026, tourism spending by Jordanians and residents fell by 9.4%, reaching $906.1 million.
